I've
been designing web pages and sites for only a little over a year. I
spend a lot of time at my computer doing other things. I especially
love playing Madden Football. Anyway, I've designed a lot of things
prior to web sites. Ever since high school I've worked in local
newspapers and done layout for yearbooks in both high school, college and
now in the middle school where I teach. I love
creating things and enjoy drawing in my spare time. I have quite a
collection of artwork from the 1980's to present.
Right now I am teaching 5th grade in a local middle school in rural Maine. I grew up in Maine and went to college in, yes, Boston. A lot of the affection I have for the show "Boston Public" comes from being in Boston for four years. I was originally working on a degree to teach high school math, but opted for elementary education. I spent a lot of time, however, in the schools in and around Boston. The portrayal of the stress teachers face in the show is realistic. I've had a number of colleagues say they refuse to watch the show because the problems presented in each episode hit a little too close to home. Well, that as may be, but I love it anyway. So, other than teaching, and working on websites, and creating a yearbook and coaching soccer and basketball, being on the curriculum committee, and taking courses at the university in the summer and collecting martial arts movies, I really have very little else to do.
